Welcome to Project 12; a space to create, to experiment, to dream.
It all started last year when I (Amy), looked at my new-to-me friend Becka and said, “What if we did 12 styled shoots next year?….One for each month…we could call it something cheesy, like Project 12.” And with Becka’s sweet photography skills and the gold dress I already had stashed in the back of my closet, we had our first shoot….Happy New Year!
We chose the Richmond Main Street Station as our first location, a gorgeous building with doorways, staircases, a balcony…..and a 20 ft Christmas tree decked in gold. It was perfect.
And we got to see an ACTUAL TRAIN go by!
Becka captured some really beautiful moments…..she’s so good!
And I adore this one in black and white.
One of our many dreams for this project is that we can collaborate with other creative entrepreneurs….maybe a florist or builder or even other musicians and photographers. For this shoot we settled for bringing along a few of our own props.
We slipped Becka into a few shots…..most of those I’ll share in a later post conveniently titled “Outtakes”…..it’s stressful to watch her push the timer on the camera, hear the clicks as it counts down, and then strike a pose in time…. I think my breath caught to watch her move so fast. :o)
To end our day, we headed to an open field for some “glitter shots”…….The combination of glitter, sunset, and catching shots in between the cars that drove by….. magic.
Which is good….since we’ve been wearing glitter for days.
So a toast to all 2017 has to offer! Thank you for letting us share our first of 12 styled shoots! As the month goes on, we’ll be sharing more: the plan is to record a cover song each month and to create tutorials and behind the scenes looks….who even knows what we’ll think up next! Until next time…..
