We learned at the tale end of January’s shoot, that outdoors in the middle of winter is no good. I mean, we already KNEW it, but we really knew it now. Ok, further clarification… Becka loves all sorts of extreme weather/photography magic….so we’re really just talking about my desire (Amy) to be somewhat….comfortable. And so peering in to February’s theme, we knew we wanted someplace cozy and eclectic….and warm. Of course the day we picked was a mean, sunny 65 degree day….you can’t win them all. :o) But still the perfect day to meander downtown Fredericksburg and find all the nooks and crannies that Riverby Books has to offer. (spoiler alert: All Riverby Books is, is nooks and crannies and old things!)
Riverby Books is three stories (you might argue three and a half) of books. Shelves upon shelves of stories and words and thoughts…..all the words!
And tucked in between the shelves are eclectic couches and rocking chairs and window seats, perfect to curl up on for a quick read or chat…..or you can just lay on the floor….
Can we just talk about this for a second…..that chair!
Who doesn’t love a good comic?
Again with the floor…. I continue to be impressed with Becka’s ninja skills, hitting the timer, making it across the aisle, onto the floor, and calmly posed….all before the click.
And to preview our video coming next week….. we shot our cover video in the same spot…. even gathered a bit of an audience by the end. Busking in a bookstore…who would have thought? :o)
Many, many thanks to Riverby Books for graciously allowing us to play in their store for the day! We split the rest of our afternoon between burgers at Capital Ale, coffee at Hyperion, and wandering the Sunken Road, part of the Battle of Fredericksburg circa the Civil War. Downtown Fredericksburg is like a historically rich hipster. I think that’s why its my fave.
